What do you have in there, rocks?

Actually? Yes. I do. I do carry rocks around and I am not afraid to admit it either. I collect rocks, but not like you might think. I collect rocks for different reasons. I bring life to them. It is the most exhilarating hobby out there. I breathe life into rocks through the tip of a paintbrush. I paint rocks, therefore, I am. Here is the birthing process. I will enlighten you.

1. Find a rock. I know? Where to begin looking huh? It takes awhile to find the perfect rock. Yet, I have become so experienced, I can find one right off the bat. But anyway, find a rock. Such as the one below.

2. Bleach the rock in cold water. For best results, do so overnight.

3. Find your perfect skin tone. Yes. Rocks can be of any race. In the art of rock painting, we do not have any racial preferences. We paint all. We accept all.

4. Bring in personality. After holding the rock in your palm for about a minute, it begins to speak to you. I may sound crazy, but I assure you, this is fact. It will tell you its gender, color preferences, eye color, hair color and what it's eyesight is. This will all be made clear to you without words. Then, you paint. And paint to your heart's content. You will know when to stop. The rock tells you.

5. Accessorize. Accessories add to the personality value. Accessories alter the mood of the rock. So seriously contemplate before accessorizing. This is a serious matter. Paint carefully.

6. Name. Name the rock. Again, after painting is finished. Cup the rock in your palm and ponder. The name will come. Always does. The rock itself will make it known to you what his name will be.
7. Cherish. Cherish the rock. Teach it. Love it. Make it your own. I put a little piece of me into every rock. And love it with all my heart.

8. Gift it. Though I collect many rocks, I cannot keep them all. So I gift them. Only my closest and dearest friends, family and teachers have pet rocks. I will only gift as long as I know you will love and care for it.

..And this is how you breathe life into a rock.
p.s. happy st. patricks day. Sometimes I dress my rocks in green for the occasion.
