the answers to your book questions.

--what are some good reads? well. let me tell you this, i read a lot. & i have never read a book i don't like. it sounds cliche but i mean it. i have read great books & i have read good books. but i have never read a book i hated. but some good reads i have recently indulged in & would recommend are as follows:
white oleander - janet finch.
the secret life of bees - sue monk kidd.
* the art of racing the rain - garth stein.
* every day- david levithan.
* why we broke up - daniel handler.
* the dovekeepers - alice hoffman.
* tuesdays with morrie - mitch albom.
* the fault in our stars - john green.
* eat, pray, love - elizabeth gilbert.
* the history of love - nicole krauss.
* extremely loud and incredibly close - jonathan safran foer.
* the great gatsby - f. scot fitzgerald.
* anna karenina - leo tolstoy
to name a few. all are good, great books. i am currently reading prozac nation by elizabeth wurtzel which i am also in love with. i have yet to finish it but i think i have already fallen for the story. i could go on & on about great, good books but i will let it be.

--favorite feel good/empowerment books. (similar to jane eyre.) jane eyre is my hero. i mean it. but. i recently finished stephanie nielson's, heaven is here. oh. my. this book was so fantastic. i would certainly throw it towards the top of the list of favorites. probably. i bawled one second, cried the next, & felt sincere anger when things just didn't work out according to plan. so yes, read this book. now. another, p.s. i love you by cecilia ahern. this book is cheesy, very cheesy. but i read it during a very vulnerable time & i would read it again & again. (probably have.) tina fey's bossypants. its a laugh-out-loud-til-my-stomach-cramps kind of book. one that just makes you feel good. its kind of a funny story by ned vizzini & of course harper lee's to kill a mockingbird.

--favorite, favorite book of all time. to ask me my favorite book is to ask how many stars number the sky. but when asked this question to kill a mockingbird or wuthering heights always come to mind. i have never been so in love with a fictional character as i am with heathcliff or atticus finch.

--how do you feel about reading books twice? do it. i read tom sawyer every summer, wuthering heights every christmas vacation, jane eyre whenever life is rough, & to kill a mockingbird at least twice a year. every time i read a book i highlight as a read. & every time i read i see what jumped out to me the time before & i remember what i was going through. it is like a journal written in someone else's words. i read the same pages, the same passages, but never the same book twice. so read & re-read books. its fine. you should. in fact. . . please do.

--> i love books. i love being asked about books. i am afraid reading will one day go out of style. pray with me that it doesn't. thanks for asking me about my passion.
