disregard the mustacheless finger. as well as the fact that this picture has nothing to do with the content of this post.today has been nice. i found some direction. i went to a farewell. i got up early. i learned things about myself i didn't think i would ever know. i read. i felt inspired & i saw mama ricks. if there is anyone i would aspire to be like it would be mama ricks. seeing & talking to her just makes me feel good.
i was home for the weekend.
& i have to leave again.

there was a lightening storm last night. each bolt bathed the sky in an eerie blue. it reminded me of standing outside a window, in the dark, & seeing the blue flicker of a TV inside. mana and i lay curled beneath a thousand and one blankets, listening to the pitter of rain on the window panes. a sound that has always left me feeling calm.
calm. that is how i would describe my feelings today. calm.
& i read a quote somewhere.
